2024 is best described as surviving through adversity for the Hutchens Hamalian Properties Group. The industry evolved through much needed commission reforming. There were historic lows in inventory of homes. Interest rates were normal but felt out of control as they were twice as high as they were 3 years ago. Insurers questioned if they even wanted to be in business in California, making it difficult for buyers. And to top that off, both Adam and Sherry had surgeries this past year. (After both losing their mom’s in 2023!).
In spite of the extra hurdles, we helped 20 clients buy or sell their homes. Some were relocating, some were first time home buyers, some were liquidating rental properties. Each client had its own unique story and we had a great time learning their story and then helping them get where they wanted to go.
Next to helping our clients, the most exciting thing we did was start a podcast, The Real Story with Adam and Sherry. We talked about all things real estate, but focused on central Contra Costa County. In addition to sharing our own wisdom from 35 years of combined experience, we also interviewed lenders, designers, appraisers, title reps, and a pest inspector. We started the podcast to explain the seismic shift in how buyers pay their agents’ commission, but realized there was an appetite for more. The Kelce brothers don’t have anything to worry about. Our focus remains on serving our clients and we will always make that our number one priority going into the new year.
