During the past few years we have sorted ourselves into isolation. But the good news is we can bind our community, one to another, by leaning into each other. As we choose to unite around our common humanity, we begin to see those among us with needs that we can help with. Sherry and I support a number of organizations that do this throughout the year, including Shelter Inc, Hope Solutions, and Habitat for Humanity.
We are asking our family, friends and clients to support two organizations that help here at the end of the year and during the holiday season. The first, One Warm Coat, a national organization, facilitates collection and distribution of new and gently used coats locally. And the Deacons Care Cottage at Walnut Creek Presbyterian Church, which among other services, distributes over 200 holiday meal boxes every year.
Please look through your closets for coats and jackets and see the shopping list below for food items needed. They can be dropped off at our office in Lafayette, or call us and we can arrange a time to pick them up. Thank you for leaning in and being a blessing to those on the margins in our community.
